Post-Treatment Instructions
- Expect about 5-7 days of downtime. The healing sequence can include redness, swelling, bruising, discomfort, pinpoint bleeding and scabbing.
- Avoid sun exposure, hot showers, intense workouts and sweating the first 24-48 hours.
- Sleep with a clean pillow case and head slightly elevated to reduce swelling.
- Your goal is to maintain a clean, hydrated and protected skin barrier. In the morning, use a gentle cleanser. Afterwards, apply moisturizer and sunscreen generously with frequent reapplication throughout the day. At night, cleanse your face and apply your moisturizer. Repeat this regimen daily for one week for proper wound healing.
- It is best recommended to leave your skin without any make-up for at least 24 to 48 hours. Mineral makeup is preferred to allow your skin to breathe and heal properly.
- Avoid active topicals, such as vitamin C and retinol/retinoic acid products or mechanical exfoliation while your skin is healing for at least 5-7 days.
- You may take Tylenol for any discomfort or pain.
- Please call the office if you are experiencing pain that is not relieved by Tylenol, excessive itching, redness, swelling, oozing accompanied by a fever.
- Avoid active topicals, such as vitamin C and retinol/retinoid acid products, or mechanical exfoliation while your skin is healing for at least one week.
